Red or Green Laser

Postby antsals » Fri Jan 01, 2010 11:15 pm

Been reading some information about green lasers. Is it true they are better for scanning?

Hi

Green laser is better for scanning because cameras ar more sensetive to green color twice red color ,and better because they have lower wave lenght ,which decrease low scattering rate at sharop edges.

Another reason to prefer green you can find here:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1337

And regarding the sensor of a color camera and its resolution: It has double the number of pixels sensitive for green than to red or blue.

A lot of people presenting their results here are using lasers from the DAVID shop. They are of good quality and not so very expensive.
Of course you can find better lasers but don't be astonished about prices many times higher.
E.g.:

or here:

Some time ago Norbert has made a useful comparison with some affordable lasers:

Does anyone know if the DAVID shop ships its lasers to the United States?
I live in New York City and can't seem to find any green adjustable lasers for sale! :(
Any advise would be a lifesaver -David
