Turntable control for custom turntable

Postby mr_cg » Sat Oct 03, 2015 6:52 pm

Hereby i would like to ask for support of custom (arduino based) turntable.
The turntable control feature should be open for custom turntable as well.

Though I for one would like to see integrated 2 simultaneous camera support implemented first.

Also Virtucube Firmware uses predefined (hardcoded) rotatation angle and the START trigger is sent from Arduino. Similar to all other Arduino based turntable's.

The very easy and feasible idea is that DAVID sends the selected scan angle from the "Turntable Control" to the Arduino when a) enable turntable is selected AND b) the "START" scanning buttion in the SW is hit.
DAVID only need to provide the trigger to START by given ANGLE. Everything else (e.g. start following scans) will be controled by the Arduino FW.

My implementation suggestion for this would be:
1. Add "Enable Custom Turntable" selection to the Turntable Control tab
2. If "Enable Custom Turntable" is selected and "START" scanning buttion in the SW is hit .... DAVID sends selected angle via COM port: z+225 (z = z-axis / + = CW / 225 = 22.5°) ... everything else needs to be triggered afterwards from the custom turntable.

z => for z-axis, x and y reserved for later use ;-)
+ / - => CW /CCW
angle in 1/10 => e.g. 18 = 1.8°, 225 = 22.5°, 360 = 36.0°, 450 = 45.0°

Also optional configuration of the digit sent to the custom turntable - as already available - would be great.

Would be great to see such "think open" feature.
