the sensor used is a Aptina AR0330 which has a rolling shutter. For a structured light setup you rather want a global shutter. I don't know if it is an improvement over a webcam with c-mount optics.
Projector: Acer K11 with Achromat f=400mm | Cameras: 2x Logitech 9000 Pro with custom C-Mount body | Lenses: 1x Computar M1214-MP, 1x Computar M5018-MP, 1x Schneider-Kreuznach Cinegon CNG 1.4/12

thanks for the heads up, is it really that critical to have a global shutter for SL? I'm sill reading up on this and finding a 1080p global is very hard.
if it ends up costing 1k id rather spend that on a black magic 4k camera

To repeat what I posted in another thread...

The David 4 Cam uses a Rolling Shutter and was confirmed by David support that this is true. I questioned this as it was listed with that spec on Growshapes and comes close to the DMK 23UX236 in many spec comparisons. So, I can only think that there must be either compensation or the USB3.0 speed nullifies many of the initial problems.
