Choosing a Lens

Choosing a Lens

Postby nevada-Kid » Tue Nov 09, 2010 10:20 am

Hello Everybody,

I'm planning to scan a large object. Its a big statue out of concrete.
The problem is that the statue is about 5 meters high. So it can't be moved.
I have a stepperdriven laser (red) and a Logitech9000 Pro.
The results are quite good so far, but for the big statue I need a new camera.
I'm not sure what lens I need for a cam like the
DAVID USB CCD Monochrome Camera?
Can anyone recommend a lens?

How do you intend to scan the huge statue? With background corner or planeless? In one go or in partial scans?

One year ago another guy was looking for a possiblity to scan an immobile object:

P.S.: Do you know that you can scan by DAVID with a rotated through 90° camera (upright format)?
