Distance Sensor Test

Distance Sensor Test

Postby milz » Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:00 am

hello

i have bought a Sharp GP2Y0AH01K0F IR distance measurment sensor.
I try to get a fixed start point for repeation scans.
here my first test. on the picture is my gearbox with the laser
mount. i have fixed the senor to the gearbox and a white paper
to the lasermount. the senor measured the distance to the white paper
with a resolution around 0.01mm.

the next picture shows 7 single images as overlay.
i have colorized each image in other color for better
overview. In my arduino sketch is a function which read
the sensor valvue and move the laser up or down to find
a fixed point. I have run the laser the random position
and started the "zero point" function. then i made a picture
of the laserline to compare the result.
the results looks very good :D

hope i find some time today for more tests -)

Looks interesting, but I still don't get it. :( What exactly is the problem you try to fix with this construction?

hi

its for found allways the same start position for a repeation scan.
So u can recalibrate the start position on the fly without do a
refernece scan again for example after a crash or stop in a middle
of a repeation scan.
