Switch 220V via microntroller

Switch 220V via microntroller

Postby milz » Wed May 26, 2010 8:46 pm

Hello

I have searched a way to turn on/off 220V Ac lights via microcontroller.
One solution is to build a SSR Solid state relais circut with a snubber.
Im no electrican and 220V are bad -)
I found this DIY electrical circut for only 15 Eur
http://www.elv.de/Schaltinterface-SI-23 ... ch_/marke_
and orded it now.
Seems a nice solution to use with any microntroller -)

Why don't you simply use a relay for € 3,-?

Hello Benjamin

Im not sure if a relais is enough. i readed some forums and they suggest
to use snubber circut to kill peaks.
i think in the circut from ELV is a snubber integrated. (Elko, some resistors and a condenser)
In my understanding its seems to be easy to use a SSR but without a snubber there a some
risks.
If you have a link for a user / DAU friendly cirut ..... im interested -)
I like to switch 8x 10W/15W Energy saving bulbs (two Softboxes).

My first idea was to use this SSR.

but after i read in the forums im not sure about it.
I wont kill my PC me or my mc in this sort or Save 10 bugs and burn down my house
