Reprojecting details with MeshMixer

Reprojecting details with MeshMixer

Hi,

the attached pdf shows a workflow in MeshMixer (free) to get back details of a partial scan (or a group as well) which were lost due to not perfectly fitting alignment or a low set fusion resolution.
Usefull also for an object owning only a few areas needing high res while the rest is pretty simple and you want to keep filesize small. Fusion resolution is a global setting and a reduction might ruin small details again.

Hope someone might find this usefull

well, its development is in full swing - there might be some glitches. It might crash, but it has a neat recovery of autosaves.

Hi Gunter,
Thanks, great idea!
Have you compared your results to the "Refinement" in DAVID Shapefusion?
It should be similar.

Hi Sven,

no doubt, there woulkd be better settings to fuse the sheep and Refinement would increase the results quality all over but I didn't do a comparison yet...
Some manual way, like this MM workflow, instead introduces some subjectivity.: The user can decide where important details are and can recover those details. Think that's the main difference.
