Hello,

mmm not sure what happen to your USB folder. But pls try this. Download the software from the David Website, choose to unzip the archive (Not installation, only extraction) then unzip it into a folder named it as the release version (eg.: DAVID_Setup_3.5.1.3298). When done, just copy this folder into your USB key (will be copied near the existing one). Then try again to start the executable file from this latest one folder.
If still don't work... try copy start the software from the downloaded folder ON your computer and leave the key insered into USB port. If again no results, try to copy the original David folder from your key to the desktop and start from your computer, still with the key in the port.

If still don't work, pls ask send an emal directly to the customer service.

Just tests. I had crash problem if I start the updated software from the key, so I use the version on my pc but with the insered key... works.

Hello,

Usually the Update works fine automatically. Please follow Mattias ideas.

You can also try to install it again. Run the installer and select "Update USB".

You can also install DAVID on your computer's hard drive (Standard Windows installation). It will create an entry in your start menu. When the USB key is inserted, the software will find the license file on it.

Please let us know if you have any more problems.
A detailed description of image of the error message would help!

This is confusing... your problem description is not clear to me.

Please install DAVID from here
http://www.david-laserscanner.com/?section=Downloads
on your hard disk (standard Windows installation).
Does that work? If not, what is the error message?

When the USB key is plugged in, DAVID should find the license on it. Go to Help -> License Info, what does it say?

On your USB key, there should be a folder "DAVID3" with a complete DAVID installation in it.
Also in that folder there should be the file "DAVID3_license.lic". Is it?

You should be able to update/repair your USB key: With the same setup installer from above, choose "Update USB" during installation. Does that work?

I am running Windows XP on a MacBook Air OS 10.7.5, through VMware Fusion 5.0.
I have installed David's software. In the process, I saw the NET Framework 3.5 installation/update

Now the problem is that when I start David (trial version), I get an error message after a few seconds.

Error signature reads:

Event type: clr20r3 P1: David3.exe P2: 3.8.1.377 P3:51ba1684
P4: presentationframework P5: 3.0.0.0 P6 470bc696 P7: 660b
P8: e1 P9: system.windows.markup.xamlparse

Reading on the forum, I see suggestions pointing to a bad installation.
Below is a text listing the content of the folder named DAVID-LASERSCANNER3
Perhaps one sharp eye can spot a sign of a bad installation...
FOLDER-gfx
FOLDER-Microsoft.VC90.CRT
FOLDER-Microsoft.VC90.OPENMP
FOLDER-printout
FOLDER-screenshot
FOLDER-settings
FOLDER-xaml
changelog
DAVID3 (application)
default_camera_properties
DPDLL.dll
DPPLibCom.dll
DPPRSC.dll
EDSDK.dll
license
license_DE
license_FR
LicenseUpgrader
MLib.dll
msvcp110.dll
msvcr110.dll
Ookii.Dialogs.Wpf.dll
puk
Third_Party_Licenses
Ucs32P.dll
unins000
unins000
vcorlib110.dll
vcomp110.dll

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Otherwise I have a projector (VGA) and webcam External USB ready to go for SL scanning.

Thank you !

You need a real Windows PC, not an emulated one.
