Thank you milz.

Of course , you are right ; There are lots of parameters :
Calibration panel , Camera , Data projector , Environment , .... Even earthquake

Lets talk about the resolution of camera and its result :
It is very important to select a good resolution of camera in scanning to have a nice and detailed result .
Details of scan can use in aligning too.
A low resolution : Low details
A high resolution : Lots of points - Needs more memory allocation .

Another one :
Have your own strategy for alignment .

How many single scans do we need ? - Part one

Remove extra single scans .

A combination of 20 single scans
LSCO031.png

Same by using a combination of 6 single scans

Try to :
Use textures in alignment ; It is so fast and precise .

Hi,

By using image grabber you will have more depth of field

Hi,

By having single scans like this one and using some geometrical shapes around it;

LSCO052.png

Try to have a rough alignment like this one:

LSCO050.png

Then remove all unwanted portions even extra overlaps and then use global fine registration :D

Hi,

Imagine that if it could be possible to removing extra overlaps automatically by DLS without merging those scans ( Fusion ).

WooOoow 8)

Do you believe that it would increase the quality of models? I'm not quite sure ...

I think it would.

That was part of my idea is this thread :
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6476

When overlapping, it would be best to keep the part that has the best focus.

This is more obvious with macro scans.
