I have taken a closer look at the first camera (with case) and all look very good.

It has a ½ inch CMOS sensor with a rolling shutter. A global shutter would be better, but it's OK for this price!
A high resolution 3M pixels sensor. :!:
A built-in IR cut-off filter. :!:
Connection for C and CS mount lenses.
5 different resolutions.
USB 2.0.
Drivers for the current Windows versions. :!:

I would say: It should work for DAVID. But who knows how fine?
So take heart and give it a try.

could do better than a 9000 pro or c920, both modded to fit c or cs lens?

Pro 9000 and C920 have 2M pixels sensors.

If you would modify these cameras you would also have to buy an IR cut-off filter. And to do a lot of work.

Regarding the Chinese 3M camera above: I think the relative high frame rates which they specify cannot be realized in DAVID. If you are looking for a high resolution camera with a high frame rate you should better look for an USB 3.0 one.
