Custom Made Projector and Camera Mount

Custom Made Projector and Camera Mount

Postby dsp5500 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 12:06 pm

Just chiming in to see if theres any interest in a custom Camera and Projector mounting system similar to whats in the SLS-2 system?
If theres enough interest I could get them machined at a good price for a group buy so everyone can gain from the pricing.

Let me know.

What would be the advantages over the current system?

Sorry, missed your post. Your mounts work real nice and thank you for making them available. Been using them since day one. The only thing I don't like about the K132 is the tripod mount protrudes from the bottom of the projector so it won't sit flat. I had to add some spacers and need to tighten it up from time to time but no big deal. The v-slot rail and your mounts work pretty slick.

what modifications would be needed for better fit?
can you give me dimensions and I'll see if I can sort the mount, I don't have a K132 to try

Might take some trial and error. I think you'd have to make the top part of the mount thicker to accommodate the 10.8mm x 4mm tripod post on the 132. Not sure there's enough room to just countersink the hole in the existing mount and still leave enough room for the 1/4 20 bolt to also clear the top of the v-slot rail.

how about an add on plate to go onto the bottom of the projector to make it flat?
could also have the plate locate around the foot shown to the left of the thread boss, this would provide more support

Thats basically what I did but I made just a small plate. Good idea about the larger plate with cutouts for the feet. That would probably make it a bit more secure. I should be able to whip up one of those in DesignSpark pretty easy.
