[Solved] Version 4092 crashes with extended screen

Postby nt4boy » Tue Jan 28, 2014 1:45 pm

Hi,

I've an HP laptop nx6110 with 32 bit W7. 2gig RAM.
Video is Intel Mobile 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family.
David loads fine until I extend the screen for Structured light scanning using a projector as the second screen.
With extended screen, David starts ok, but the selction buttons on the left stop reacting to clicks, and if if I wait long enough, Windows terminates it with a message like this application is no longer working.
I apologise for not writing down the precise message, but I'll update this later today.
I updated NetFramework to 4.5 and that's not helped.

Any guidance or thoughts would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you set the Projectoras "Extended Desktop" correctly, so it shows NOT a clone view of the laptop screen?

Please try to reset DAVID: Close DAVID. In DAVID's subfolder "Settings", remove all files. Then start DAVID again.

Sven,
Yes, looked at the Clone or not Clone options and definitely correctly set to just extended.
Removed the settings files. Restarted it again.
Noticed that while its kinda frozen and before it crashes, the CPU is 39% on David process.
All the buttons are stuck, but oddly the little graphics view screen in the middle is reacting and can be zoomed and panned while the mouse is in it.
Starting it up again, then If I press no buttons, task manager is normal, and when hovering mouse over the buttons they highlight fine, but it only all goes wrong when I actually press one, which I guess calls up the graphics screen.

Fails with Stopped Working Error.
From the event details and the Event log.

Reading further back in time Sven,

In notice that my problem does sound similar to viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3950

Unfortunately, there are no suggestions there!

Thanks

Kinda solved it by swapping to another more modern laptop.

I think the old one was at the edge of its graphic capability and not well supported in W7 being so old.
