Video of laser scanning

Postby copytco » Wed Jan 08, 2014 5:59 pm

Hi there, I need to make presentation about selected Reverse engineering technique/technology/software/hardware and I found DAVID, which will later help me create some 3D models of products for my Internet shop.

Coming to the subject - my laser did not arrive yet and presentation it tomorrow. Will any of you be so kind and upload video/videos I could use in Video Grabber in DAVID to show capabilities of the program? It does not need to be something spectacular, just a normal object you scanned and have a video of it. :)

Hi,

there's a AngelScan.zip example movie at:http://www.david-3d.com/?section=Downloads

Pretty old but maybe you can use it.

On my WIKI page I posted another movie long time ago:

Also pretty old result....

Great, thanks MagicWeb. Though, I have a problem with calibration using your video. The message says: "Camera calibration failed. Unknown calibration error." Do you know what may be the problem? Is calibration scale here important (since you did not provide yours)?

Argh...

At that time (DAVID2.x) there was a tool to mask out areas of the calibration image/movie. There are two dark stripes in the lower corners of the clip which are detected as being markers. That's why calibration fails now...sorry!

If you are looking for a global presentation of laser scanning, this video is aimed to sum up the process : https://vimeo.com/25154773
I made it a long time ago with the old David-Laserscanner software !
