David-laserscanner scanning wavy images problem

Postby Samskruthi » Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:03 pm

Hello Everybody,

While using the David- Laser scanner to scan a circuit I am having a difficulty and would like some advice on how to fix this difficulty.

Difficulty that I’m having:

1. Whenever I scan any side of the circuit, I am getting wavy image of the scanned circuit.

Solutions I have tried to fix this problem:

1. Hold the hand steady as possible while scanning the circuit.
2. Scanning in the dark.
3. Scanning as slow as possible.

I am still not sure why the scanned images of the sides of the circuit or wavy. I am a student and a beginner at using the David-Laser Scanner and need advice as soon as possible to fix this problem. I would greatly appreciate your advice. Please see the following image to view the scan of the frontal side of the circuit.

Thank you for your help

Hi,
You should and you can attach an image by using the button "Upload attachment". Best as *.jpg at max. 1024 x 768 pixels.

Edit: You can minimum upload up to 3 images in one post.

The waves are not good to see. :(
Therefore please magnify the circuit of your screen shot. Click in DAVID with the left mouse button on the 3D scan and magnify with the mouse wheel. Holding pressed the left button enable to shift the scanned object in a suitable position.

And best is to present the circuit without a texture, so nothing is covert.

Hi Sam,

Yes, if other scans are OK, I rekcon David is confusing your part for calibration panel.

Try sticking some masking tape over anything that might be mistaken for a black dot.
