With my laser I have, it came with red lens glasses. Now if I put a red filter on my camera would it increase the resolution of the scan by making the line more visible?

A filter will be useful if you have problems getting high-contrast camera images for scanning, e.g. in bright environments. So it can decrease noise and lead to better scan results.
If your laser line is already clearly visible and the background (nearly) black, the filter will probably not make much of a difference.
