Lesson #1 to High Quality Scan - Orange Scan

Postby Khalid Khattak » Mon Oct 04, 2010 5:01 pm

Hi,
Lesson No. 1 to get High Quality scan is to keep the Object as possible near to the Camera... Attach you can see the Laser scanning of Orange i just plucked from the Tree...
The closer the object to the camera the greater details you can get.... This is Lesson No.1:)

Hi Khalid,
Yes that is an important hint. Many people start with a big distance to the camera. But I think it may be misleading. Instead of "Place the object close to the camera", I would suggest: Place the object as far into the calibration corner as possible, then place the camera close to the object. :)

This is important stuff!

Many of us read these forums building our own rigs and trying things. But as obvious as this is to the people who have many trials, it is not obvious to us. Thanks for the important hints. :D
