Optimizing scanning time

First of all I would like to congratulate Sven and Simon for their achivements and for giving us this great project.

I'm very pasionated about CNC and I have started to collect links from internet about cnc's and 3d scanners.

I would like to show you a comercial product which has an ingenious method for generating raster :

It generates a lot of vertical white lines and I think that it could mean that it is equivalent to many scans of a single line.

Instead of an expensive video projector it could be used an old fashion diapozitive projector (a light bulb, optical condenser , a piece film with raster on it and a focusing lens).

I think that could speed up a lot scanning process. That's because all new cameras have good resolution ccd.
