Program for splitting a Big 3D-Model?

Program for splitting a Big 3D-Model?

Postby AlexNoir » Sun Dec 29, 2013 10:55 am

Hello there!

We're sometimes scanning objects with DAVID, which are much bigger then the build volume of a common 3D Desktop printer. Is there somewhere a Program avaiable, which gives this possibilitie to split a object into effective sizes for the personal printer? And if not that automatically maybe a procedure with a open source program? I tried it one with Blender but there're always the difficulties to find the exact border again (I'm doing the slippiting until now only with deleting one part).

Hopefully someone can help me!

Hello!

Thank you, butt I also tried this before - and it doesn't work for files which came from David - I think the program is not able to handle bigger sizes of files.
