DAVID 3.10.0 beta1

Postby Sven » Tue Dec 24, 2013 12:21 pm

Dear Forum,
Please try DAVID 3.10.0 beta1:
http://downloads.david-3d.com/software/DAVID_3.10.0.4205_beta1.zip

Main improvements:
We have worked on the camera interface to improve compatibility to various cameras. However such changes may always have side effects. There are so many different hardware combinations... Please test if everything works fine with your cameras. If your camera did not work with DAVID before, it may work now... Please report here!

Textured scans should now look better. Previous versions have reduced the texture resolution for maximum compatibility, now it uses higher resolutions automatically. Especially fused scans should look much better now. Please let us know if it does not work on your system.
This is only about the 3D display in DAVID. The result exported to files is the same.

There are now dedicated "Hardware Setup" profiles for SLS-1 and SLS-2 (coming soon). They are like "Structured Light" profile, of course, but they allow only suitable camera exposure times. In the future we will warn about wrong projector resolution and/or frame rate settings.

And more...

Hi Sven
My remarks. Alignment is much faster and it does not matter the position. What the older version is not aligned, the current will perform flawlessly. I made a quick picture of the texture Basler camera in black and white.
I stick to a request. I have a photographic self-image production, this could previously be performed. We are very please to take this opportunity.

Hi Sven,

seems inverting scans' normals work as expected now.
I'd suggest to label this bug report as being solved:

Thanks

Sorry, this was stated to quickly.
The issue still happens depending on the workflow:
If I invert the normals just after loading them, all runs fine.
If I try a Free alignment before inverting the normals (which fails) inverting the normals does not work.
More at the bug report soon...

That's strange. We have not changed the alignment. It should be the same. Maybe your data are different? Or your settings are different?

Sorry I don't understand what you are saying.

Hi Sven
I'll ask my daughter who works in London for translation.
