Distortion in Scan David 3.5.1

Postby Khalid Khattak » Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:18 pm

I hereby confirm the distortion in the scan.
I think the Calibration of the Projector to be made more perfect.
Free Alignment required more tweaking and programming. The two scans never perfect align in the Shapefusion but the same scans Aligned perfectly in the Rapidform. However the distortion is visible .

Actually their are two optics involved one for camera and one for projector. The camera calibration seems good as David team have good experience in calculating the distortions etc but the calibration of the projector seems not perfect.. My scanning rig is sturdy and perfect. When i scan multiple shots at same location, all the scan merged pixel by pixel perfectly. But when i rotate or move the object to scan the deformation seems visible. I dont know why and how can this be avoided?

For all and to make point clear and put this thread to conclusion that to avoid distortion always use POSITIVE DEFAULT CORNER by David team.

yes, these days I am researching DAVID.in my test ,the scan is very good ,the scan is very fine.but the shape fusion isnt good.because the scan cant pefectly fusion.in this lever ,You will wast lots time.if the shape fusion is good .the software is very good.
maybe it is the distortion in scan.
today I think why DAVID not support two camera,in the industry area.the two camera is mainstream, the accurancy is more good.
