Cannot find the projector - David 5

Postby Noefrat » Mon Aug 29, 2016 2:34 pm

Hi everyone,

I just want to test the new version of David Scanner, i.e v5. I don't have the licence.
My problem is that the software does not detect the projector. It only detects the screen.
What I have already done:
- switch the output plugs for the main screen and the projector
- extend the screen
- check in Desktop options that the projector was detected and set at the good Hz: it is the case.
- try with another type of projector of the samecompany (Optoma).

Any ideas? or did I miss something in the software installation?

Thank you in advance,
Noefrat

If you mean using Windows+P, yes!

There is something more to note: the only projector that I can select (in the Projector Setup section) is the screen...

Under Setup menu > setup type > choose "custom structured light scanner", then you should be able to select your projector in the list.

I try to use the "Custom Structured Light Scanner", but it is still the same problem.
However, if I use the Duplicate mode of Windows, I can select the projector, but the calibration pattern appears in the screen and in the projector.

Hoping that somebody found a solution...

I have tried with different projectors and different video cables.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to the David support team, everything is solved :)

First, I have to precise the problem: in my case, it was a problem of monitor setting. If you look at the "Device manager" window and if you notice that the projector is associated to TeamViewer, then the following solution is maybe the adequate one. Of course, to face to this problem, you need to have TeamViewer installed.

If you search on internet "TeamViewer pnp monitor" and you will find that people have problems with TeamViewer when they want to change the brightness of their monitor for instance.
It looks that TeamViewer changes the configuration of the monitor.
It seems that, even if you uninstall TeamViewer, you can keep this problem.

Here, one solution:
- go to "Device Manager"
- ckick right on the "Monitor PnP -..."
- click left on "Uninstall"
- click right on "Monitors"
- click left on "Scan for hardware changes"

The projector will appear with a name close to "Generic monitor..." and now you can select my projector on the David 5 software.

Thank again drndadoo!
