Optimal sine wave wavelength

Postby andyjk » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:22 pm

Is there a formula for deciding on the best wavelength for the sinusoidal patterns ? For example, assuming 255 levels of grey, a short wavelength - say 20 pixels - would give accurate phase shifting results (from the camera) but would need more Gray codes and vice versa.

How does David arrive at the frequency it uses?
