Now I am very new to this, however after reading a bunch of topics about using structured light it seems as though power line frequency showing up in the light can be a bit of a problem. My solution would be to rip out the standard AC light bulb and replace it with an array of high brightness LEDs. The main advantage is that there would be no flicker showing up in any images taken at a high frame rates. I have personal experience with industrial vision systems running exposure times of 1 millisecond that have shown this. The second thing that might be an advantage is that LEDs, in a specific color have a relatively narrow frequency range, possibly giving better edges.
