Use the contact pair selection when aligning.

That should get things aligned properly.

I'm not very good at alignment but I will share what I know and apply.

Generally speaking
-Try different alignment options till you get a satisfactory smooth transaction between scans like the posted images.

For the teapot
-If the free option doesn't work for 1 trial. You can undo and try 3 or 4 more times! The software tries different probabilities.
-You don't need to use tags for that teapot. Because it has clear identifiable features.
-If that still doesn't work; What I would do is to manually drag and overlap the scans as can be seen from the posted images.
-Then click the "pairwise fine registration".

Good luck!

Try using the marked contact pair for alignment... It should properly align both scans.

Dear Reachyours, if you send me two of your scans, I will try for you and help further.

My opinion is "contact pair selection" can be a little slick. Since it takes only one point for reference.

And what are you going to with the tags after the fusion? Are you gonna post process them with another software? Such a waste of time.

I think tags should be used only when necessary.

For now, David doesn't have the option for "n points" contact pair registration.

I'm sorry, I've typed a wrong mail address. It is a gmail not outlook.
