Unwanted smooth effect after fusion

Postby sem81 » Thu Dec 01, 2011 12:21 am

Hi,
seems that the fusion process apply some kind of "smooth" effect at the original scan.
In this way many details are lost.
There is any way to avoid this problem, maybe some advanced setting?

That's strange. I have just fused an old SL coin scan to see the difference. But I cannot see something. Maybe a soft suppression of the noise.
Blue is the unfused scan.

And as I know there aren't any settings in the Advanced Settings which can be changed.

I think you 're right, it 's some kind of noise reduction.
The problem is that some details are treated like noise.
I try to fuse same object with "sharpness" function in demo mode (set to 1) and i get a better result.
Unfortunatly i can't save this result.

I see, with 'Sharpness' we would have a fine tool. But it isn't released for the standard version of DAVID. The same is true for 'Refinement'.
So we must wait for the Enterprise Edition.
