question about external cad software

Postby chrizzo » Wed Jul 20, 2011 3:05 pm

Hey, it is possible that i can use all single scanned objects (.obj files) in an external cad programm like autocad to combine and fuse them there? so i think its better for x y z positions. in autocad you can controll them with numeric like x:526 y: 120 z: 400 or so. what do you think?

Hi Chrizzo,

I think you should take a look at using Meshlab 1.30a ( for aligning your objects if you don't want to use the DAVID program.
In my opinion, using CAD is more difficult as you are aligning visually, which may not give you correct fusing of the object when joining.
