Odd black dots on texture

Postby cave men » Mon Oct 11, 2010 3:22 pm

After shaping my skulls with poisson, i get results with some nasty black dots on the texture. These dots appear continuously but on random areas on the scan. i also attached the texture .png of the shape. I don't see any black dots on the texture there. :?:
I searched in the forum for similar problems, but don't find anything. Anyone who has an idea, where this comes from?

Hello cave men.

I think I know what's the problem about. While you reposition your object to see other parts of it, you cover or shade some parts which usually should be visible. In your case these parts are dark.I nmy case I used a white paint to cover some things and had a bad result.

Just read this discussion: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1787

Maybe you can just delete the textures that are not really needed.
