Question Calibration Corner

Postby mickey92 » Sat Oct 18, 2008 12:12 pm

Hi everybody.
I'm new in this activity :D i'm from Paris.
Sorry for my bad english :)
I would like your opinion , i'm desinger in engine vehicul,
and i would like scan a part of vehicul. I undestand the principe of DAVID,
but if the "Calibration Corner" is smaller than the part,
or if the calibration corner is under the part (P 1&2), is'it possible to scan ?

It's more simpler with picutre :)
I would like scan this part of vehicul (P3), but i can't put the calibration corner.

Have you a opinion on that ?
Or is-it possible de separate the 2 faces of calibration corner (P4) ?

Have a good day
Michaël

Hi, welcome

Your idea of P4 works. There are several topics about such a setup. Search the forum "window" or "windowsetup". This way you can take several partial scans of your big oblect.
You have to change the values in the calibpoints.dat file in your DAVID folder.

Read e.g.

Btw. Your right side pattern is bottom to top. This way calibration will fail!

hope that helps

Hi again,

I forgot to mention:

Using 2.1 or higher, you have to allow detection behind the planes in the advanced settings dialog,

EDIT: and maybe you disable the background filter ( setting its value to negative , maybe -1)
