Scanning of calibration panel

Postby argo » Fri Nov 08, 2013 10:46 pm

Hello Davidians,

I always make a scan of panel, after calibration.
Everything looks ok but there are always some vertical lines on scanned panel. is that normal or is it something that i should take care about?
Anyway it seems that i not not able to remove these lines.
Any suggestions?

Regards,

-It looks like the wall-to-wall reflection we experience with an inner corner (or positive corner) setup.
-The problem is it is very emphasized in your scan.
-Some people use outer corner to avoid this.
-DAVID is natively designed for inner corner.
-And a few guys use an inner corner but put a thin mat black paper(or whatever it is) across the center of the corner.
-In my opinion you have multiple problems.
-If you share your scan procedure step by step with pictures, the pros here can help you further.

I just found out they are not only some simple vertical lines.
They are shapes. which affects the scan of objects same as the panel.

Dear argo,

I wasn't scanning for 2 days, I'm planning to have a scanning session tonite. I will try to get the same distortion you have, If I achieve it, I'll report.

Hello,

I dont know if it is going to be unanswered topic or not.
last night i thought there might be some similar topics to mine which already has been answered. so i tried whole 5 pages of Camera Calibration, and there was not any even close to mine.
so again i started to test the system. and here is the best panel-scan i achieved.
but some how i think the light of calibration is not right!! or maybe it is??!!

-argo the scan in your last post is too dark. Even if I hadn't see the last calibration scan, I could have said it was dark. Because the surface is blurry.
-Last night I had a short session because I felt sleepy. In the short time, I couldn't get a problem like yours.

-This last result is very good...
-If you also want to get rid of the little pixel like reliefs (they're literally pixels of your projector), you can put the board a little out of focus of the projector. This way you have a smoother scan, but you lose sharpness. But I don't prefer it, I'm fine with those little imperfections as far as the scans are sharp.
-If you want to obey the david manual, you can increase brightness for one or two clicks, but your projector is a bulb projector and excessively bright for little objects, I may sometime prefer it to be a little dim to get less noise.
To conclude, probably I would click OK button with your las calibration and start scanning.

Best regards.

Hi Argo,

I'm new as of last week, but I can tell you I've gotten night and day results with my logitech cams rolling back drivers. I had the dark blurry images you had. But with the ability to really control brightness, sharpness, contrast and gain my black/white grid is strong. And never going autofocus was a must. Also, using a 4+ lens on my projector allowed a much better clarity of the grid.
