My setup, my dilemma

Postby Lunat1c » Wed Oct 09, 2013 1:47 pm

-Here I wan't to show you my setup and tell why it is so hard for me to scan something properly.
-The blue lines represent the areas where the cam and the projector focus best.
-The green line shows that the camera is above the projector level a little bit.

My drawbacks are;
-The projector can't throw short distance. So it is hard to fit the projection into the calibration pattern borders.
-The webcam can't focus short distance. So if I put the object, thus the calibration panel, where the webcam focus best, the calibration panel becomes so little that I see nearly the whole board, and can't calibrate!
-If I put the webcam close to the projector, it heats the hell out of the cam.

-So to compromise, I accept the fact that the camera will be a little out of focus.
