Why "Save Calibration function in Camera Calibration Window?

Postby benoy » Mon Oct 29, 2012 4:52 pm

Hello every one,
1) Can some explain to me what is the use of the "Save" Camera calibration function in the Camera Calibration Window?
2) When should one save use this function?
3) What is the advantage?
4) Can we save and later import the "Saved"calibration after changing the Camera orientation and then continue with the Projector calibration?

Thanks & Regards

Hello,

Yes is possible to save the camera calibration values and then import back that. This can be usefull when u switch your setup between some configurations. Image that u need to change the optic of ur camera. If you don't change the relative distances and position of camera-beamer, but only change the lenses and exposure or brightness or contrast parameters... u can use again the previous camera setting. The important thing is that u don't change the hardware positions and when use the previous lens, don't modify its settings.

So this feature can be useful only if u can have a well know-fixed configuration of hardware. Then u can switch between your settings.

In DAVID 3.6 you will be able to save and load the calibration of the whole scanner (camera and projector). :D
