Thanks for the investigations.
But please not in Hungarian language. There are translation programs available. I know it's difficult to translate a complete sentence. So please translate the single words like forgatás (= rotation).

Köszönöm! De (pedig) angolul tessék. Van forditàs program magyar ==> angol.
Titokzatosság = nem! :wink:

Let me point here to micro scans made by Dr. Benoy. He has SL scanned very small dental brackets, only about 4 mm „big“ and he has made comparisons to show the very good absolute accuracy of DAVID:
http://www.david-laserscanner.com/forum ... 046#p23046

Edit:
And here the scan of a caliper made by Narmella on August 5th,2014:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6224&p=30617#p30617

He used the Geomagic software for comparison.

Hi Walter,

DLS is an accurate scanning software :D
But about hardware and using dls to get more accurate scans :

Some parameters
- Operating system and drivers for directX.
- Resolution of camera
- Lighting ( Ambient , ... )
- Calibration panel
- Calibration
- Selecting number of patterns for projection ( Structural light )
- Coating ( Thickness , ... )
-....

I can get a deviation up to :

- +/- 0.005 up to 50 mm by using a 50 mm calibration panel
- +/- 0.015 from 50 up to 100 mm by using a 120 mm calibration panel
- +/- 0.025 from 100 up to 200 mm by using a 180 mm calibration panel

Hi,

Here is a scanning result by using david laser scanner.
I have used a 200 mm calibration panel.

Alignment :
Number of single scans : 15

Fusion :
Resolution : 2000

Comparison in geomagic studio :
Using digital caliper 85.00 mm
And using geomagic :

Narmella, that is one of the best alignment result that I've never seen: perfect!

Narmella, looks great! Out of curiosity, is this using your "Let's Scan" app or regular David?

Hi,

Thank you "hal" and "pottersfriend".

Revers engineering is a part of my occupation ( More than ten years )
As i wrote it above ; I got that DLS is an accurate scanning software and has enough flexibility to use ( vertical and horizontal setup and more )
Precise input equals precise output.

Precise input :
- Precise calibration panel
- Precise calibration ( Needs some information about light and its behavior )
- More Depth of field ( It is so difficult to get it in live scanning )
.
.
.

DLS is not limited to use a special hardware ( You can use a variety of data projectors and cameras )
The image grabber module is my favorite option ( I wrote " lets scan " to use it )

I have decided to share my ideas here in this forum .
Unfortunately , I have not ability to edit my previous posts and add extra information like some links or more images ... :(
But I will post some information later.

@ pottersfriend
Yes, I used results of lets scan to use them in image grabber module.

Good luck

Hi ,

@Asif :

... please advise me which scanner is best for it to achieve .05mm accuracy..if laser is enough for it then please point me what is the best available hardware ...

It is available to achieve a very high precision results by using the software DLS .
As i wrote it before " David will give the result of its inputs " ; Off course it contains many items .
And i discussed about it enough
- Good calibration
- Good accessories
- Good alignment
....

Please read the forum carefully ; You will find very good topics about your goal

Please note that : if you have a very good appearance scan , It does not mean that it is precise enough.

I don't think the accuracy of 0.05mm can be attained with Scanning... You can though manipulate the result by selecting a node of the triangle to show other the exact 100% accuracy.

Yes khalid ,

It is difficult but not impossible.

This is a simple analysis of a fine grinded surface.
The scan file has created by using a combination of 5 single scans and has fused all in DLS.

This is my last post in this topic .
I tried to show that how much of precision is available to achieve by using DLS.

Hope it was useful to all.
Thanks to david team and my special thanks to Walter , Gunter and Matia.
