Hi Gunter,
You don't need to scale the offset for the V3 pattern. The value 60 has no meaning any more. Sorry for the confusion that we had with the old patterns...
I assume 496.5 mm is how far you have moved the "cut line" of the pattern away from the Y axis.
Just put 496.5 in the offset_z of the left pattern and in the offset_x of the right pattern.
Your rotation values are correct.
Please let me know if it works. :)

Hi Sven,

well doing that, me and Godehardt tried again to get the corner calibrated using the new patterns: :( without success :(
DAVID found all visible markers, but calibration failed.

Finally we switched back to the old patterns (and a modified calibpoints.dat) and this worked as usual....

Back home again, I´m going to do some further tests on this.

So long Gunter

Hi Gunter,
If you post/send me the camera image that you can't calibrate, maybe I can find out why it fails...

Hi,

Tibor: Sorry, could you point out what you mean by "I placed it onto one not lived the focus" ? (Did you set the cam a bit unsharp ? )

Sven: We did a shot, but unfortunately I was lost in our efforts... :(
Today I tried to reconstruct the issue - but here at home: any calibration on a 120° angle with an offset using V3 patterns works without problems... hmmm...Either we still had some calculation error of the offset (but I cann´t believe that) or our problems were caused by some different reason.
Just some thought: Is there some time limit involved in the calibration?.... The system was rather slow due to a rather long USB cable...

We´ll have to wait, till Godehardt will try it once again, to get a shot.

Thanks for your help
Gunter

Hi Gunter,

No there is no time limit in camera calibration. Also the calibration speed should not depend on any USB device...

Hi there

Make sure all necessary software is installed on your computer: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher and DirectX9 or higher.

 :|  :|  :?

Oh my god:

After controlling the put in values, the cam settings, the points´sizes, the accuracy of the whole setup, many phone calls and sleepless nights over three weeks......

What did I do wrong?

I calculated the values using the WIN calculator, copied and pasted them to DAVID´s advanced settings - allready some idea?

The WIN calculator gives a colon as decimal marker not a dot

BUT DAVID only can read dots as a decimal marker    Interesting find:
Using colons in the Offset values makes the calibration fail!

Sorry Erhard, but some simple things often are hard to find....

@ Sven : Shouldn´t one add a warning if wrong formats are set in the advanced settings - but for me I´m sure, I will never forget this any more.

EDIT: Also if you put a value with a colon instead of a dot into the SCALE textfield: Calibration will fail!

Sorry Gunter... To be honest I knew about this problem...
Now I have fixed it. The next DAVID version will accept both period and comma as decimal separator.

If you want you can use the latest beta, "2.6 beta4": viewtopic.php?p=13583#p13583
It should be able to deal with commas.
Of course it won't accept any 1000 separators. 123456.789 can be entered as 123456.789 or 123456,789, not as 123,456.789.
EDIT: In that version, Poisson Fusion fails. :-(

Hi Sven,

tried 2.6 beta 5 with several odd angles and offsets using "," and "." (even mixed) as separators:

No problems here any more. Calibrations works here :D
thanks for fixing that
